New sort column in the GEI

Coops, with all the new items you have added to the game, is it possible to get a column added in the GEI that sorts by item type, (i.e. Reactor, Weapon, Mining, Cargo, Freight, etc.). There are times I am looking for something specific and being able to sort quickly to find that type of item would be helpful since it is harder to use the text search if you don’t know exactly what you are looking for.

Here is my list of suggested types:
Reactor
Cargo
Freight
Mining-Ice
Mining-Rock
Harvester
Shield
Ship-Tier X (X=a number 1-4 currently)
Weapon
Repair-Beam
Salvage
Scanner-Combat
Scanner-Mining
Repair-Armor
Repair-Hull

Nice suggestion. That could indeed be very useful for searching in the long list of possible items.

A less detailed filter could show:
weapon slot
mining slot
shield slot
energy slot
expander slot
systems slot

Until a filter is implemented, you could use the following search criteria:

  1. Weapon Slot:
    E- (many different prefixes: cannon, laser, phaser, disruptor, gatling,…)
    Repair Laser R-
    Salvage Laser S-

  2. Mining Slot
    Asteroid Laser A-
    Ice Drill I-

  3. Shield
    Barrier B-
    Deflector D-
    Shield S-
    Ward W-

  4. Reactors:
    Generator G-
    Micro Cell M-
    Power Cell P-
    Reactor R-

  5. Expander
    Freight Hold F-
    Cargo Hold C-

  6. System
